Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be greeted by our friendly representative and transferred privately to Arusha.
Relax and settle in before the evening safari briefing, where your guide will review the itinerary, safety procedures, and ensure all your equipment is ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park Exploration

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Set up camp in a scenic area and head out for an afternoon walking safari, offering an authentic introduction to the African bush.
As you walk, observe the sounds, scents, and movements of wildlife from a completely new perspective.

Day 3: Tarangire’s Wildlife Encounters

Spend the day exploring Tarangire’s diverse ecosystems through a mix of guided walking safaris and game drives. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you’ll have the rare opportunity to spot elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and perhaps lions or leopards from a safe distance.
This immersive experience lets you connect deeply with nature and witness the park’s abundant birdlife.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater’s Wonders

Today, journey to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called Africa’s Eden. Descend into the crater for a full-day game drive, encountering the Big Five, as well as flamingos and hippos around the soda lakes.
Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the incredible scenery before ascending to your campsite on the crater rim.

Day 5: Olmoti & Empakai Craters

Begin the day with a scenic hike to Olmoti Crater, meeting Maasai herders along the way. Later, continue to the remote Empakai Crater, a hidden gem within the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Enjoy an afternoon walk around Empakai Lake, where flocks of flamingos feed in the alkaline waters. The tranquility and untouched beauty here are simply unmatched.

Day 6: Trek to Lake Natron

Embark on a spectacular trek from Empakai to Lake Natron, descending through the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Donkeys will carry your gear as you pass Maasai villages and breathtaking landscapes with views of Oldoinyo Lengai and Mount Meru.
This full-day trek rewards you with panoramic vistas and a true sense of wilderness exploration.

Day 7: Oldoinyo Lengai’s Majesty

Begin an adventurous trek to Oldoinyo Lengai, Tanzania’s only active volcano and a sacred site for the Maasai people. Descend into the valley with stunning views of the Rift Valley floor.
Depending on your preference, camp at Chini Ya Mlima Campsite at the mountain’s base or transfer to the more comfortable Engaresero Campsite, offering showers and shade.

Day 8: Maasai Culture & Return to Arusha

This morning, enjoy an authentic Maasai cultural experience at a traditional Boma, guided by local elders who share insights into their daily life, traditions, and ceremonies.
After this enriching encounter, drive back to Arusha, reflecting on your unforgettable walking safari through Tanzania’s wilderness.

Day 9: Departure

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and lunch at the lodge before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward journey. Depart with memories of a truly unforgettable African walking adventure.
